Our shaggy baby is now 209 pounds and growing in her tiny horns at 7 months old! 💗 Willow is shedding her warm qiviut for summer`s warmer weather (keepers leave the qiviut for the local birds to use 🪹). Willow continues to do well living with her 545-pound loving mom, Charlotte. 💕

Happy Earth Day! 🌎 Arlington Elementary’s first and second graders were bubbling with excitement for their Park Week lessons at South Tacoma’s Oak Tree Park. Ready to go, sporting their waterproof science jackets, the students explored their local park in a new way. These kids are Wildlife Champions. They are part of a long-term partnership between Point Defiance Zoo and Tacoma Public Schools. Both Arlington and Lister elementary schools participate in the program. The purpose of Wildlife Champions is to help kids develop empathy for wildlife. They also learn to be good stewards of their schools and neighborhoods, including their local parks. 🌱

Hoo-ray, it`s Apollo`s 10th birthday today! 🎉 Barn owls are thought to have some of the most sensitive hearing in the world. You can meet our feathered friend at the Discovery Hut habitat. 🦉
